Memo to T.S. Eliot: In Boston, April Is the Coolest Month

We all remember The Waste Land, right?

APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.

Except right now, as the hardchilling staff sits on our porch, we desire a much warmer spring.

But, cruelly, no.

According to The Weather Channel, here’s our immediate future.

Well that totally blows.

But not as much as this:

And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

Yeah – we’ll take the Mostly Cloudy vs. the handful of dust any day.

    On the other hand, my peach tree had blossoms this year, after missing 2016 because of a February cold snap. So with a little luck, I’ll be consulting Eliot this September.
