But they didn’t.
So the Boston Bruins won it in the second overtime:

The Pens’ whiney sense of entitlement is an embarrassment to hockey, and obviously more than enough to turn the Hockey Gods against them. The Hockey Gods are Just — ask Alex Burrows — and there is no whining in hockey. They might as well have stood in a lightning storm holding a sword over their heads loudly proclaiming their invincibility. You do not mess with the Hockey Gods.
Besides — they stole the Bruins’ colors, their captain is a petulant teenager, and their three stars are named Sidney, Eugene, and Jarome. My 13 yo son has a better playoff beard than Eugene. And Pittsburgh smells.
Other than that you like them, though – yeah?
