Bill Clinton is – and always has been – a complete fraud, but he’s the greatest American politician the hardworking staff will ever see in its lifetime.
And last night he was the absolute Pavarotti of political conventions.
Via ABC News:
Clinton turned in a brilliant performance, making the case for Barack Obama better than anyone – especially Obama himself – has done up to now.
But . . .
Every time Clinton waved that crooked right-hand index finger of his, we couldn’t help remembering him saying “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky . . . ”
Beyond that, as usual he went on too long – almost 50 minutes.
There have been lots of references lately to Clinton’s 1996 State of the Union address in which he famously said, “The era of big government is over.”
What no one mentions is the corollary: The era of big-mouth government had just begun.
Regardless, if Barack Obama doesn’t campaign his ass off for Hillary Clinton in 2016, he’s not the man Michelle Obama told us last night she married.
His hands were shaking.
