Really? Second Hand Smog?

Apparently second-hand smoke wasn’t enough of a hazard. (Then again, there’s this Reason piece that makes you wonder.)

  1. Andre Mayer says:

This is a real issue, related to real political developments. Historically the EPA has addressed air pollution through state-level plans, with state consequences for non-compliance. But many violations in our region (and elsewhere) arise from “air transport” of pollutants from areas to the west — from coal-fired power plants in the midwest as well as urban smog from down the east coast. EPA’s ability to regulate emissions on the basis of air transport is now at issue in DC.
