BP, the energy company that engulfed the Gulf in oil with its Deepwater Horizon meltdown in 2011, has begun a newly aggressive ad campaign after groveling to the American public for the past two years.

It appears to me that BP is one of the biggest advertisers on MSNBC. I know they advertise on the Sunday morning talking head shows as well, and I don’t actually watch enough commercial TV otherwise to know the incidence of BP spots there. I’ve wondered if they ran so many commercials on MSNBC to gin up a favorable image from Democrats in general and liberals in particular. The frequency of these messages doesn’t seem to have declined even during the current MSNBC ratings drought.
