Is A College Degree Worth The Money? (Part 2)

New grist for the mill from the Weekend Wall Street Journal:

College Does Pay Off, but It’s No Free Ride

Nut graf:

College does pay off for most, and just completing a year or two boosts future income. In addition, prospective students who are on the fence about college are the most likely to benefit, according to several studies.

Helpful chart:

See you around the campus.

1 Response to Is A College Degree Worth The Money? (Part 2)

  1. Other studies have basically shown the same thing: that a bachelor’s degree adds around 70% to your salary compared to only a high school degree, after correcting for all the other various variables (sex, geography, etc.).

Now will the WSJ editorial page and op-ed pages quote their own material when they discuss the relative salaries of public employees — 60-70% of whom are usually college graduates or above — with the salaries of private employees — only 30% of whom have a college degree?

Don’t hold your breath. The WSJ opinion pages have a political agenda. Facts be damned.
