From Fridays New York Times piece about GOP presidential wannabe Rick Perry’s new Debate & Ditch strategy in the face of 13 televised bakeoffs through the end of January:
Skipping debates could come at a steep political cost. By refusing to participate now — after being criticized for his previous performances — Mr. Perry opens himself to charges that he is trying to avoid them.
Ya think?
I guess swimming in the deeper national pool is more difficult than wading in a Texas puddle. The fish are bigger, have sharp teeth, and a good old boy waving a revolver doesn’t frighten them.
He sure does seem out of his depth, Al.
Poor Perry, caught between losing the debates ignominiously and losing votes or just losing votes.
Perhaps ditching the debates is one of his better decisions.
