‘Long Form’ Mug In Poor Form?

Obama ’12 Email Offer: Get Your $15 “Long Form” Mug

The Obama ’12 operation hit some portion of its email list with a fundraising ask that can probably fairly be called rather cheeky: for $15, according to one version of the email, you can get yourself a mug featuring Obama’s long form birth certificate. On the reverse, there’s a smiling Obama with the tag line “Made in the USA.”

Mug on a mug. Clever.

Presumably, Obama will stop complaining about the birthers, since he’s now making money off them.

He should keep on complaining, all the way to the bank! Nice to see this coincide with the Corsi book. The birthers are the gift that keeps on giving!

Any reaction to the Esquire prank yesterday? Seems like lying about liars is just karma running over the dogma, but the right-wing blogs are screaming bloody murder.

I dunno, Steve – since when did simple fabrication become parody? Isn’t there supposed to be some connection to a style or a work of someone else? Or maybe I’m just irony-deficient in these matters.

I don’t think it was parody. It was a prank. A dirty trick. A lie. (Albeit labelled with a “humor” tag if you looked close enough.)

One would think Corsi would recognize and appreciate it.

Yeah, except all these people are calling it a parody.

        Well, they’re wrong, obviously. 🙂

WSJ calls it “satire”. There is irony involved, so I guess I’ll buy that label. But I still think “prank” is much closer to the mark.

Serves them right for reading Esquire.

Did the Obama campaign send a complimentary mug to The Donald?

I can see it now. A talking mug. “Great job, Donald, great job!”

So this is technically a mugshot, right?
